Sierra Streams Institute is a watershed monitoring, research, and restoration group based in Nevada City, California, in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Its mission is to promote community stewardship and scientific knowledge of watersheds through monitoring, research, restoration, and education.

• Designed and built a new website for Sierra Streams. This included site design and architecture, HTML coding, modification of existing content, writing of new content, creation of graphics, etc.
• In charge of ongoing website maintenance and updating.

The University of Chicago Press is one of the world's premier publishers of scholarly books, journals, and reference materials.

• Developmentally edited Learning to See the Animals Again by John Gluck (2015).

The Autry National Center is a multicultural history center formed from the merger of three important museums: the Southwest Museum of the American Indian, the Museum of the American West, and the Women of the West Museum. It includes The Institute for the Study of the American West.

• Developmentally edited Yosemite: Art of an American Icon, an illustration-rich book designed to accompany an art exhibit of the same name (2005).

• Edited, revised, and co-wrote new material for the second edition of Dr. Gliessman's Agroecology: The Ecology of Sustainable Food Systems (2005-2006; published 2006 by CRC Press).
• Edited the second edition of Dr. Gliessman's Field and Laboratory Investigations in Agroecology (2005-2006; published 2006 by CRC Press).
• Edited a collection of conference papers published as Agroecosystem Sustainability: Developing Practical Strategies (1999; published 2000).

• Copyedited the January, 2002 issue (Vol 30, no. 1) of the society's journal Fremontia.

Apple "has been in the classroom empowering teachers and students to teach, learn, and collaborate for 30 years. Students now learn anywhere with today's digital tools that accommodate their individual learning styles."

• Wrote software-based curriculum for Apple Learning Series kits: grades 3-6 curriculum (1999-2000), Secondary Math and Science (1999-2000), and Secondary Language Arts and Social Studies (2000-2001).
• Evaluated suitability of software for inclusion in the Apple Learning Series kits (2000).

HP (formerly Hewlett-Packard) "is a technology solutions provider to consumers, businesses and institutions globally. The company's offerings span IT infrastructure, global services, business and home computing, and imaging & printing."

• Revised storyboards and content (prepared poorly by another contractor) for use in creating a Web-based training course on the HP LaserJet 4600 series of printers; reviewed the developed course and ordered changes (Nov 2002-Feb 2003).

• Developmentally edited a manuscript by Dr. Oscar Lemer about the life and work of the social surrealist painter Irving Norman (2009-10).
• Consulted with Professor Vera Candiani of Princeton on the revision of a an article about the environmental history of the Valley of Mexico published in Hispanic American Historical Review in 2010. (2009).
• Consulted with Professor F. Bowcutt at Evergreen College on revision and development of manuscripts on the environmental history of the tanoak tree on the west coast of the US (2008-9).
• Consulted with author Michael J. Lannoo on revision of a manuscript comparing the lives and legacies of Aldo Leopold and Ed (Doc) Ricketts. To be published as Leopold's Shack & Ricketts' Lab: The Emergence of Environmentalism by UC Press in June, 2010 (2009).
• Consulted with Professor Tamara Levitz at UCLA on revision and development of a manuscript about the premiere of the melodrama Persephone in Paris in 1934 (2009).
• Developmentally edited a manuscript by Dr. Kat Anderson about Native American management of the prairies of the Olympic Peninsula and their plants and animals (2006-8).
• Contracted to write a book about MindTime, a technology that maps people's thinking styles, by John Furey and MindTime, Inc. (2007).
• Developmentally edited and revised a memoir by the late Dr. Kenneth Norris to be published as Mountain Time (2007-10).
• Developmentally edited a manuscript by Dr. Oscar Lemer about the 19th-century artists and photographers of Yosemite and their relationship to the historical development of California (2006).
• Edited (2005-6) Senator Howard Cannon of Nevada: A Biography by Michael Vernetti, published by the University of Nevada Press in 2008.
